Joint DPU-BSTU Institute: Internationalization in Action

In May 2025 the Joint Institute of Dalian Polytechnic University (People’s Republic of China) and Belarusian State Technological University (Republic of Belarus) officially opened. The Joint Institute appeared on the list of Chinese-Foreign schools and projects approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. The Joint Institute of Dalian Polytechnic University and Belarusian State Technological University will be affiliated with Dalian Polytechnic University, Dalian, Liaoning Province, China.? ?

The Institute will initially offer three English-taught educational programs in Automation of Technological Processes and Production, Industrial Processing Machines and Equipment, Information Systems and Technology. Annually each of the programs will enroll 100 Chinese students within the framework of the national enrolment plan.?

The main purpose of the Joint Institute is to improve the standards of training by means of international cooperation, sharing of educational resources, best teaching practices, cutting-edge research and innovation developments of the partner university. The project is in line with the “internationalization at home” strategy intended to provide quality education through cooperation with foreign universities.???? ?

The Joint Institute of Dalian Polytechnic University and Belarusian State Technological University will cultivate globally competitive talents with solid professional knowledge, perfect practical ability and broadened international vision and understanding. Adhering to the principles of public welfare, the Joint Institute will aim to boost the social and economic development of the nation.

The teaching process will be conducted by both parties so as to ensure integration of Chinese and Belarusian high-quality teaching resources. Relevant BSTU staff will be responsible for almost half of all courses listed in the curriculum. Graduation projects will also be supervised jointly. Upon successful completion of the curriculum the graduates will be awarded two Bachelor degrees (Dalian Polytechnic University and Belarusian State Technological University) of their respective educational program.

The Joint Institute is a long-term educational project and is expected to run until December 2041.??? ?
